Extended Schools

Extended schools were introduced to help bring children out of poverty and improve their outcomes and chances in later life. Extended schools are central to ‘Every Child Matters’, to raise standards and ensure that children:

  • Are healthy
  • Stay stafe
  • Enjoy and achieve
  • Make a positive contribution
  • Achieve economic well-being

Extended schools’ close relationships with the health and social care sectors and other partners are also central to the ‘Children’s Plan’ to improve all aspects of children’s well-being. As an extended school, All Saints works as a cluster in partnership with Sefton Local Authority and other local providers, to offer a range of activities and services that support and motivate children to achieve their full potential.

As an extended school we offer a breakfast club, and signpost to the local ‘Brunswick Youth Centre’ to provide childcare after school. We also offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities, and being based in the same building as All Saints Children’s Centre, we have access to their varied menu of services and activities. These include parenting support, family learning and swift and easy referral to specialist services.
